In order to have a balanced diet, we must select the appropriate amount of food from the various food groups.
Here's the guide.We call it the healthy diet pyramid.
Foods eaten daily should come most from the base and least from the tip.
At the base of pyramid, is the rice and alternative food groups which forms the bulk of our diet.
And the second level of the pyramid, we find fruits and vegetables.
The meat and alternative food group is found on the third level of pyramid.
These foods should be given in smaller servings,
at the tip of the pyramid are fats,oils,sugar and salt.
Only small amounts of these should be added in food preparation.
