Michael Buble: Home

Quiz by: Sharon Michiko Yoneda

Another summer day has come and gone away
In Paris or Rome, but I wanna go home
(I) May be surrounded by a million people I
Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
Oh I miss you, you know

And I've been keeping all the letters
That I wrote to you
Each one a line or two
"I'm fine, baby. How are you?"

Well I would send them, but
I know that it's just not enough
My words were cold and flat
And you deserve more than that

Another airplane, another sunny place
I'm lucky I know
But I wanna go home
I've got to go home

Let me go home
I'm just too far from where you are
I wanna come home

And I feel just like I'm living someone else's life
It's like I just stepped outside
When everything was going right

I know just why you could not come along with me
This was not your dream
But you always believed in me

Another winter day has come and gone away
In either Paris or Rome, and I wanna go home
Let me go home

And I'm surrounded by a million people I
Still feel alone
Oh let me go home
Oh I miss you, you know
Let me go home
I've had my run
Baby, I'm done
I gotta go home

Let me go home,
It'll all be alright
I'll be home tonight

I'm coming back home

Singer and actor, Michael Buble was born in Burnaby, B.C., in 1975. His father was a salmon fisherman. Buble's Italian grandfather encouraged his singing by paying for singing lessons and even offered his plumbing services in exchange for stage time for his grandson. His grandfather never stopped believing in Michael's talent and encouraged his grandson to push on towards success.

It was Prime Minister of Canada, Brian Mulroney, who gave Michael Buble his first big break. Introduced to Buble's talent by an aide, the former prime minister hired Buble to sing at his daughter's wedding and from there, introduced him to Canada's super-producer, David Foster. It was the express lane to fame from there on.

Buble's first award came in 2004 when he won Best New Artist at the Juno Awards. Since then, he has won five other Juno Awards and one Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. In the jazz genre, Buble has won several prestigious awards including a Canadian Smooth Jazz Award for Best Male Vocalist.

The song 'Home' won a Juno Award in 2006 for Single of the Year.
