I just wanted to let you know that my second semester of using ESL video and chattybots is off and running to a great start. I love how easy it is to create comprehension quizzes from YouTube videos, and how they are integrated into CANVAS. As a busy teacher (I'm teaching 5 classes again this semester), that's one less thing I have to worry about.
Also, my students really enjoy speaking with the chattybots. I assign 1-2 chattybots per module (week) that relates to the topic we are discussing in my speaking and listening course. The students speak for 2-3 minutes with the chattybots, but sometimes they end up speaking for 20 minutes. The chattybots allows the students to practice their FLUENCY without being embarrassed or worry about making a mistake.

I wanted to share some feedback based on my current use of Chattybots with CNA students. Overall, the system has been very easy to follow and easy to upload into Canvas, which has made implementation smooth from an instructor’s perspective. The setup is intuitive and efficient, even when managing multiple modules and student groups.
From a teaching standpoint, the realistic, scenario-based structure has been extremely effective. The series of guided questions helps students walk through the patient care process step by step (assessment, safety considerations, communication, and decision-making) rather than jumping to an answer. This naturally promotes critical thinking and clinical reasoning, which is essential for novice healthcare providers. I also believe Chattybots helps students prepare for the state certification exam, which frequently includes situational and critical-thinking questions that require applying knowledge to realistic patient care scenarios.
One of the strongest benefits I’ve observed is student engagement in the one-on-one format. Many students feel more comfortable sharing their thoughts, asking questions, and expanding their ideas without the pressure of being evaluated in front of peers. This has been especially beneficial for quieter students and English-language learners, who often demonstrate deeper insight and stronger reasoning in this individualized space.
Overall, Chattybots has become a valuable tool to reinforce patient-centered care, critical thinking, and confidence in clinical decision-making for CNA students. I see strong potential for continued expansion across additional modules and programs. I would love to continue using Chattybots, and expand it for their interview in the healthcare profession and Home Health Aide students if possible.
